Juices, Smoothies & More: Ready to start looking and feeling more vibrant and energetic? Ready for greater mental clarity and a higher sense of well-being…

Then begin by doing something that will instantly make you feel better, lighter and healthier. Start by “adding in” a fresh juice or smoothie to your morning routine.  That’s right, you don’t have to eliminate anything… but *warning*, the more consistently you do this each day, you might just find yourself wanting to pass on that box of cereal, bagel, coffee or muffin ;)

Testimonial: “I recently put my son on the very special juice that Emma recommends (see Signature Juice below) as he has had low energy and dreadful constipation. The results were almost immediate. His bowel movements cleared within 24hrs and he has more energy. It has been a great result. He is now hooked on juicing everyday.” Wendy, Sydney, Australia.

So, want to know why the Pink Drink is my Signature Detox Juice? Because it’s fantastic liver cleanser. And a liver that is even slightly sluggish can make you feel “blah”, cranky, retain water, prevent weight loss, and affect your appearance by making you look older…!

More reasons why I love this juice and my favourite green smoothie:

Beetroot and its greens:

  • improve energy levels – excellent source of iron
  • great source of minerals: sodium, calcium, phosphorous and magnesium. As well as noticeable amounts of niacin, Vitamin C and A. Beets also contain folic acid
  • has been found to reverse and prevent radiation-induced cancers
  • is a blood purifier
  • research has shown that drinking beetroot juice reduces blood pressure
  • is helpful in the treatment of psoriasis

Parsley:

  • is a rich source of beta-carotene, bioflavonoids, iron, magnesium, vitamin C and zinc
  • helps produce an overall sense of well-being
  • is a traditional remedy for asthma and allergies
  • is a diuretic that also helps decrease inflammation and irritation in the bladder and urethra.

(Note: intake should be limited to a safe, therapeutic dose of a half cup to 1 cup per day. Parsley can be toxic in overdose, which should be especially avoided by pregnant women).

Celery:

  • has a calming effect
  • is helpful for insomnia
  • has also been shown to lower blood pressure

Carrots:

  • are one of the richest sources of beta-carotene
  • are believed to be able to break down the protective mucous membranes around cancer cells
  • are helpful in treating fatigue

Cucumber:

  • is a natural diuretic

Fennel:

  • helps calm the mind and relieve depression by releasing endorphins into the bloodstream. These feel-good chemicals create a mood of euphoria, and dampen anxiety and fear
  • promotes digestion, relieves gas and is a uterine tonic

Ginger:

  • has been shown shown in scientific studies to have anti-inflammatory properties
  • aids the absorption of nutrients
  • is excellent for easing indigestion, colic and gas
  • for me, it is a delicious addition to any juice or smoothie ;)

Lemon:

  • is beneficial because it’s rich in vitamin C and bioflavonoids, which help increase the body’s resistance, decrease toxicity
  • is alkalising in the body

Pineapple:

  • contains bromelain, an enzyme that inhibits platelet clumping
  • aids digestion
  • soothes heartburn
  • relieves symptoms of ulcers
  • reduces inflammation
  • enhances wound healing.

Green Juices/Smoothies in general:

  • are rich in chlorophyll and research has shown that chlorophyll may block the genetic changes that cancer-causing substances produce in cells.
